Torncrest house in Ontario, Canada is one of the ideal examples of it. This contemporary house is designed to have harmony with the natural surroundings but the elements of the house still make it really stands out in a good manner, off course.
It seems like contemporary architecture has very distinctive with natural surrounding that it won’t be easy to be integrated. But it isn’t an issue for Altius Architecture, the one responsible on designing this residential building. The main concept is a spacious one storey building with optimum daylight exposure on most sides of the house. This is one reason why glass wall is dominating the structure. The main area inside the house is the social space integrating kitchen, dining room and double living room. Modern style is accentuated through rich of color in the interior decoration on this social area. Color gradation and in some space, contrast color, really make a dynamic vibe on this area creating better atmosphere inside the space.
Bedroom and bathroom are accommodated on the upper floor of this modern house. Classic and minimalist decoration accentuated on both room with lots of wooden decoration on both rooms. On the outdoor area of this contemporary residential, there’s a nice gradation from glass terrace, deck, to sunken pool and beyond that, green garden that gives amazing scenery. Glass wall, blue zinc color and wooden structure on the exterior really makes this house stands out in every season, whether it is surrounding by green of the garden or in the middle of white winter snow.
